Prevention Works In Seattle

What You Can Do

Effective youth drug abuse prevention involves people from throughout the community who do a variety of activities promoting positive youth development.  Contact the Prevention WINS coordinator for more information about any of the opportunities for involvement listed below.

Distribute a parent guide  to preventing teen marijuana use.   Available in English  & Spanish .

Tweet!    Tweet youth substance abuse prevention messages on  Prevention WINS Twitter  page.

Help student substance abuse prevention clubs with their activities.   Prevention clubs at Eckstein Middle School and our local high schools are conducting student surveys, developing awareness campaigns, and planning for fun, drug-free events.  If you are available at lunchtime or immediately after school ends, they could use your help.

Start conversations on our Facebook page.   The coalition's Facebook page  is one way parents can connect with one another and share information.  Use your social media savvy and post conversation starters.

Attend a Prevention WINS coalition meeting.   Check out the coalition calendar for meeting dates and times.

Talk to friends and neighbors about creating a community that supports healthy activities for youth.
